Jonas Eriksson Photography, London Experiencing the underwater world is something I truly love, and I am lucky to have a lovely partner who shares this passion and is every bit as adventurous as I am when it comes to exploring new diving experiences (cold, murky, night, off-shore, ice!). We find it extremely easy to agree on getting quality gear and skipped the "entry level stuff" from the start as we knew we were in it for real :-)

We started our dive training in May 2006 with Mark Card in London, a highly qualified dive instructor and now a great friend of ours. After our dive training took place in UK waters, covering a variety of environments, from "The Smalls" 20 miles off the Pembrokeshire coast in Wales to Vobster Quay in Bath including interesting sunken "crushing works", we experienced some amazing diving off Morten Island in Australia, "The Poor Knights Islands" in Tutukaka, New Zealand, as well as several full-on dive-days around the Yasawa Islands on Fiji in early 2008.

Later this year we hope to go diving with our friends in Germany and explore some cool (literally) Alp lakes in Austria or Italy, as well as to go to the Farne Islands and go diving with Seals.

Our current dive kit list:

  • Wetsuits: Waterproof Aries (5mm semi-dry neopren)
  • Drysuits: Waterproof Draco (3.5mm compressed neopren, bring on the ice diving!)
  • Regulators: Poseidon X-Stream Deep90
  • BCD: Poseidon BeSea W50 / Poseidon 'The Platform' (Jonas)
  • BCD: Scubapro Ladyhawk (Nadia)
  • Fins: Apollo BioFin Pro (Jonas)
  • Fins: ForceFin Pro (Nadia)
  • Computer: Suunto Vytec DS (Jonas)
  • Computer: Suunto Cobra 2 (Nadia)

For safety, we both carry an SMB with SOLAS tape for visuals and a dive-alert and storm whistle with us during all dives, and add a "RescueStreamer" and (possibly) a green scuba laser for day and night signalling when diving in the sea.

We believe marine environments and marine life require considerably better enforced protection, so we support Sea Sheaherd in their quest to enforce the internationally agreed marine laws, and the Galapagos Conservation Trust.
